Percentage = (Part / Whole) × 100. Example: 15 out of 60 = (15/60) × 100 = 25%.
Multiply the number by X and divide by 100. Example: 30% of 400 = 400 × 30 / 100 = 120.
Percentage Increase = ((New Value − Old Value) / Old Value) × 100. Example: From 50 to 65 = ((65−50)/50) × 100 = 30% increase.
Multiply the number by (1 + percentage/100). Example: Add 18% GST to ₹1,000 = 1000 × 1.18 = ₹1,180.
If interest rate goes from 5% to 8%: the change is 3 percentage points but a 60% increase in the rate. These are different measures.
