Frequently Asked Questions
Multiply by 9/5 and add 32. Example: 37°C = (37 × 9/5) + 32 = 66.6 + 32 = 98.6°F. Quick mental math: double the °C and add 30 for an approximate answer.
Absolute zero is the lowest possible temperature — 0 Kelvin (−273.15°C / −459.67°F). At this temperature, all molecular motion theoretically stops.
India officially uses Celsius (°C). Weather reports, medical thermometers, and cooking all use °C. Fahrenheit is used in the US and some other countries.
Normal body temperature is 37°C (98.6°F). Temperature above 37.5°C (99.5°F) is considered a low-grade fever. Above 38°C (100.4°F) is a fever.
Room temperature is typically 20–22°C (68–72°F). Standard laboratory room temperature is 25°C (77°F, or 298.15K).
