- Set your expected return rate (equity funds: 10–14% historically) and time period to see maturity value.
Formula
SIP Maturity = P × ((1+r)ⁿ − 1) / r × (1+r)
Where: P = Monthly SIP | r = Monthly rate (Annual Rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100) | n = Total months
Lumpsum Maturity = P × (1 + R)ᵀ
Where: P = Principal | R = Annual rate / 100 | T = Years

Frequently Asked Questions
SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) is a method of investing a fixed amount in a mutual fund at regular intervals (typically monthly). It helps you invest in a disciplined manner and benefit from rupee cost averaging.
SIP is ideal for regular investors as it averages out market volatility. Lumpsum works better when markets are low (like during a crash). For most salaried individuals, SIP is the recommended approach.
Equity mutual funds have historically delivered 12–15% CAGR over 10+ year periods. Debt funds: 6–8%. Large-cap index funds: 10–12%. The actual return varies by fund and market conditions.
Yes. A Step-Up SIP (or Top-Up SIP) lets you increase your SIP amount by a fixed % or amount each year. Increasing by 10% annually can dramatically improve your maturity value — use it to beat inflation.
Most mutual funds allow SIPs starting from ₹500/month. Some allow ₹100/month. There is no maximum limit. ELSS funds (tax-saving) accept SIP from ₹500/month and qualify for 80C deduction.
